

A doctoral candidate at l’Université de Montréal, Mr. Doucet studies under the tutelage of Maneli Pirzadeh. He has also benefited from masterclasses with such eminent artists as Marc Durand, Robert MacDonald and John Perry (piano), as well as Margo Garrett, Marilyn Horne, Graham Johnson, Warren Jones, Kiri Te Kanawa and Martin Katz (vocal piano).
Winner of the Knigge Music Competition (2013), the Auditions jeunes artistes de Radio-Canada (2004/2006) and the Atlantic Young Artist Competition (2010), Mr. Doucet has also been awarded top prizes for his performances of contemporary works, both at the CFMTA National Piano Competition (2009), and most recently at the Ibiza International Piano Competition (2013).
A virtuoso whose enthusiasm is genuinely contagious, New-Brunswick pianist Julien LeBlanc is renowned for his great musical sensibility and his talent as a communicator. Based in Montreal, he is a well sought-after soloist, chamber player and accompanist.
Julien is a founding member of Trio Arkaède with whom he recently recorded a second album. A great lover of the art song repertoire, he is often heard on the concert stage with many Canadian singers including sopranos Miriam Khalil and Nathalie Paulin as well as with mezzo Lauren Segal. He recently acted has music director for Against the Grain Theatre in a production of Pelléas et Mélisande by Debussy in Toronto.
Julien LeBlanc
Julien LeBlanc holds a post-graduate Diploma in Accompaniment from the Royal Academy of Music (London, UK) where he studied with pianist Malcolm Martineau, a Doctorate in piano performance from Université de Montréal under Paul Stewart and Marc Durand as well as an Artist Diploma from the Glenn Gould School (Toronto, ON).
Julien LeBlanc has been an adjudicator on several music festivals and competition in Canada. He currently works as a vocal and collaborative pianist both at McGill University and Université de Montréal.
Pierre-André Doucet
A fervent advocate of new music, he has premiered works by such luminaries as Libby Larsen (USA), Hendrik Hofmeyr (South Africa), Richard Gibson, Pierre Michaud, Jared Miller and Andrew Staniland (Canada).
Well in demand as a soloist and collaborative pianist, Pierre-André Doucet has performed extensively across Canada, as well as in the United States, Germany, Spain, France and South Africa. Several of his performances have been broadcast on Espace musique and Radio-Canada, as well as on CBC Radio’s Next series.
Mr. Doucet is also a prize-winning author. His first collection of poetry and short stories, Sorta comme si on était déjà là , was awarded the Discovery of the Year award at the most recent Gala des Éloizes (2014).
